Just yesterday, at the DMV, I took advantage of the wait to get a few snapshots of Elias. Who knew I'd be making such a transition?
This morning, he cut his first tooth. It's barely visible, so his smile hasn't really changed yet, but the clock has started. And that little baby smile will soon be gone.
There are very few things that so obviously change a baby into a child, as it were. Crawling and walking and talking; those are the most acknowledged. But I will miss the gummy smile, the open-mouthed giggles, the quintessential baby-ness of my little boy.
And an end to letting him teeth on your knuckle!
ReplyDeleteOne of those "impossible genetic things" like you getting Mimi's hair, Pappap Baker's eyes... Elias has a slightly crooked smile like his great Gramma and his Granna!
ReplyDeleteAnd seen from old France he has both of your so kind smiles... much love from Milena & Beatrice...
