Mother's Day, expanded edition

What does one do on an 80° Mothers' Day?  One goes to the beach, and runs around like a goof with a toddler.

One laughs when the toddler gets soaked but happy.  One scrambles over rocks.

One lets a baby's feet touch sand; and saltwater, for the first time.

One smiles with uncontainable joy.
One gets ice cream for dinner.

And then, of course, one finds dry clothes for both boys, straps them into car seats, and drives 2 hours home with whining, crying children.  Both sides of this motherhood coin, wrapped up in one sunny Sunday.

  1. Ice Cream for Dinner only works if you're the grandparents! Gotta be able to drop the kids off at home, and run like hell!

    1. Actually, in retrospect, I think whining had more to do with the fever he spiked in the morning... And, admittedly, the commute is wearing on all of us.

      Besides; cool parent points!
