Kissing Cousins

Two weeks meets two months.

You'd think Asa would be used to forward, liberated women.

Smiley, happy kids...

We also had an awesome time at the zoo...

It's great to be family!

Two Months Old and Smiling!

Especially when Mommy and Mummy make funny faces.

I'm also noticing that the wider open my mouth is, the happier he seems to be.  Poppy, what have you told this child?  Grooming him to follow in your footsteps?  Sheesh.

SOOO Big!

It is impossible not to notice that Asa is growing like a weed.  From day to day there are almost drastic changes - in his size, his strength, his alertness.  Still, being so close to him, it's harder to see it, until this week, when three things happened:

1) Naps became just that: naps.  Definite parentheses in the middle of an otherwise-wakeful day.  They're not on any sort of schedule, and can be tripped up by things like car rides, but we've definitely moved into the realm of mostly-awake.  (On a similar note, nights are becoming good sleepy times.  The past two, there's only been one wake-up call, around 3am.  Aaaah.  Sleep.)

2) I had already gone through and weeded out some of the newborn-sized clothes, and pulled out some of the smaller 3-month stuff, which fit pretty well.  But he didn't feel all that much taller until a couple days ago, when I put him in the car seat and realized his feet hung off the edge.  Hmm.  Turns out that with the fleece snuggle sack in the car seat, we hadn't been able to tell that his bum wasn't right down where it should have been, and that the shoulder straps were positioned way too low.  So after another delightful round with a set of Graco instructions, Asa's car seat is set for "bigger baby".  And he is much, much happier.

3) He had his third pediatric visit this morning.  His NP is in love with him, of course - how could you not love our little boy?  He was calm and mellow throughout, and had grown about an inch (see n°2), but the real shock to us was his weight - at 10lbs 6oz, he's gained nearly 3lbs in the past month!  WOW!  (Go Mommy!)

But he's still not sure how he feels about raspberries blown on the belly.  In time, Asa Bean.

Another Two Hearts Stolen

It was too short a visit, but Aunt Jessica made up for it in quantity and quality of snuggles.  And Uncle Mike melted into a little puddle of silly-face-making-goofiness.

Aunt Jessica let go only long enough to take a couple pictures and eat her breakfast...

But then she snatched him back.  Heh.  We really had to keep an eye on her, to make sure that she didn't capture him away to Pennsylvania.

Hope we'll see you guys again soon!

Amazing!

Baby Asa, totally absorbed by the classic baby crowd-pleaser: the ceiling fan in the kitchen......and the classic Mommy and Mummy crowd-pleaser: an Asa smile.

Playtime with Mommy

Oh, wait, but what does that tee shirt say?

Which is better than the onesie that the nurses put on him while he was still in NICU, that said "Still living with my folks."

On another note: WELCOME BABY RILEY!! We can't wait to meet you!
